MCDONALD’S yesterday lost an eight year legal battle to prevent a Malaysian restaurant calling itself McCurry. The Kuala Lumpur eatery, which sells biryani rice and fish head curry, won the case on the grounds that there was no evidence to show it was trying to pass itself off as part of the McDonald’s empire. McCurry owner AMSP Suppiah and his wife were awarded court costs of 10,000 ringgit (£1,721).
