Suarez boosts Reds
Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez scored the goals that gave Liverpool a 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Kuyt scored a controversial first-half penalty after referee Kevin Friend initially awarded a free-kick for John Mensah’s foul on Jay Spearing before changing his mind and pointing to the spot. Suarez produced a stinging finish from a narrow angle to make it two with fifteen minutes left before Mensah was sent-off for the home side.
