Wenger: It’s easier to sort home form
ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger believes his side’s patchy home form won’t be a barrier to them challenging for the Premier League title.
The Gunners moved to the top of the table, albeit for just a few hours, on Saturday following another impressive win on the road, this time 4-2 at Aston Villa.
Arsenal have amassed 17 points away from home this term, comfortably the best in the division, but have been beaten on their own patch by Spurs, Newcastle and West Brom.
But Wenger (right) is certain his players will find the solution to their home sickness and denied they are suffering from a mental block when they play at Emirates Stadium.
He said: “The fact we have away wins, but are not winning so much at home, I feel it is a coincidence. I don’t believe we have a mental problem in terms of playing at home.
“I would prefer to have the problem this way around rather than the other way around.
“It is good to know you can win away and, at some stage at home, you know you will get things right. There is no fear about playing at home.
“Maybe we want to be a bit more urgent at home. Maybe we feel at the start a bit too confident.
“I think there is a lot more to come out of this team. It was a very strong performance against a dangerous Villa team.”
