World’s largest Lego store opens in London’s Leicester Square
The world's biggest Lego store opened its doors in London's Leicester Square earlier today.
The store, which is the 131st to open worldwide, features a life-sized Underground Tube carriage, where visitors can pretend to take a trip with a Royal Guard and a rather famous bard, but without the signal failures. The carriage, which took 3,399 hours to build, is made from 637,903 bricks.
Even the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan stopped by for a visit.

"We are excited to have finally opened the doors to the world’s largest Lego store here in London," said John Goodwin, executive vice president and finance chief of the Lego Group. "We want to inspire and develop children through creative play experiences – and this store is all about that.
"Here, parents and children can explore the many different LEGO products while at the same time getting a truly immersive experience of the LEGO brand."
