Wimbledon prize money 2016: Winner will take home record £2m reward
The winners of this year's Wimbledon will take home a record £2m in prize money, the biggest reward ever paid out by the competition.
Wimbledon has increased its overall prize pot by five per cent to £28.1m meaning even first-round losers in the singles competitions will receive £30,000.
Last year's winners Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams both took home £1.88m.

In six years, the winners' paycheque has doubled while a decade ago Roger Federer made just £600,000 for his fourth successive Wimbledon title.

It is now level with the Australian Open in what it offers its singles winners, £400,000 ahead of the French Open, but behind the US Open which last year awarded its winner Djokovic with £2.1m.
The All England Club announced that it was also increasing its spending to fight match-fixing on enhanced monitoring of betting patterns at the tournament which will be played from June 27 – July 10.
