Uber president Jeff Jones quits after six months in role
Uber president Jeff Jones has quit his role after little more than six months in the job, the car hailing giant has confirmed.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “We want to thank Jeff for his six months at the company and wish him all the best.”
Second in command at the car hailing firm to Travis Kalanick, Jones had departed because his role was "not the situation he signed on for", according to US website Recode.

Recode also cited sources that said Jones’ exit was “directly related” to multiple controversies at Uber, including claims of sexism and sexual harassment.
The sources added Jones’ departure was not influenced by Kalanick’s decision earlier this year to search for a new chief operating officer.
Jones took over from the former chief executive of Uber, Ryan Graves in August 2016.

A former chief marketing officer at Target, Jones initially spent much of his time meeting drivers in a bid to understand how their concerns could be addressed.
However, Jones was more recently put in a sticky situation during a Facebook question and answer session with drivers, only to be subjected to angry comments and complaints.
