ANGLO-SCOTTISH MEETINGS: THE LAST THREE

Arsenal v Celtic, 2009-10
Champions League qualifying round
The Gunners all but wrapped up the tie with a 2-0 first-leg win in Glasgow, but the most memorable incident occurred at the Emirates Stadium, when a tumble from Eduardo (above) prompted a penalty, a ban for diving, then a Uefa U-turn and, all in all, quite a rumpus.

Man Utd v Celtic, 2008-09
Champions League group stage
Two offside-looking Berbatov (above) goals and a Rooney strike earned United a 3-0 win at home before Celtic held them 1-1 in the return match, a late Ryan Giggs header cancelling out Scott MacDonald’s lob. Celtic finished bottom, United went on to lose in the final.

Man Utd v Celtic, 2006-07
Champions League group stage
United edged a five-goal thriller, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer firing the winner, in the first meeting and Celtic gained revenge 1-0 in the return clash. Remarkably, Japanese wizard Shunsuke Nakamura (above) scored with superb free-kicks in both clashes.
