Business leaders gather at the capital’s General Election celebrations
As the night drew in, some of the country’s top business leaders were heading for their chosen General Election parties.
Some had two to three parties to choose from, with the Institute of Directors, law firm DLA Piper, and others all putting on stylish gatherings.

Probably the party of all parties for business leaders took place at Villandry in St James, Waterloo Place, where financial PR guru Roland Rudd had invited a host of investment bankers mixed with chief executives and a sprinkling of politicians such as former Labour government business secretary Peter Mandelson.
The champagne was free-flowing, as were the tweets, blasted out from a neon screen next to a giant television monitor.

There was a distinct frisson after the first exit poll showed a lower than expected Labour haul, with groups of guests immediately retreating into huddles to discuss the ramifications.
