I’ll use this column to update you and all readers on what will be an exciting journey.

Looking at today’s action and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT runs in the handicap hurdle (1.45pm) at Newbury.

He ran well at Market Rasen last time, but we probably rode him a little too positively that day.

The step up in trip should help him and he’ll be ridden with a lot more restraint.

We know the track suits as he won here last year and there are definite grounds for optimism.

I’m sending LEGAL HISTORY up to Doncaster (2.10pm) this afternoon where he should enjoy the decent ground.

He made a pleasing start for us at Newbury in December and was then a little disappointing at Taunton next time if I’m honest.

I’m putting some sheepskin sidepieces on him today which should sharpen him up and hopefully he can go well.

I won’t finalise my runners for the rest of the weekend until later this morning but it’s likely we will run NORDIC COMBINED in the handicap hurdle (3.10pm) at Newbury tomorrow.

He was beaten a long way behind Al Dancer last time, but he stumbled badly three out and Bryony [Frost] did the right thing and looked after him.

Hopefully he can step forward in the right direction again tomorrow as he seems to enjoy it at Newbury.

There is a chance we could run EXTRA MAG in the novices’ hurdle (2.50pm) at Sedgefield on Sunday.

He is a nice young horse that we like and is stepping up in trip for the first time.

Hopefully that should suit, and he still holds entries at the Cheltenham Festival in just under two weeks if things go to script.
