England rugby head coach Eddie Jones joins Goldman Sachs board in Japan
England rugby's head coach has landed a job on the side with Goldman Sachs.
Eddie Jones, who coached Japan's national team for three years, has been appointed to Goldman's Japanadvisory board in Tokyo.
The 55-year-old Australian, who was named as England's first foreign head coach a week ago, will be expected to attend meetings in Japan at least twice a year to deliver leadership and coaching advice.
Jones led Japan to one of the greatest upsets in rugby history at this year's World Cup, where the "Brave Blossoms" won three games having previously only ever won one game in 24 attempts.
He has admitted his input at the meetings will "definitely not be about banking".
Goldman Sachs Japan president Masanori Mochida, said: "Jones achieved the impossible by bringing the Japanese team to a level on par with the best in world rugby."
Jones, who is half-Japanese himself, spoke from Goldman's offices about how he had to combine many Japanese natives and naturalised foreigners who couldn't speak the language into the same team.
"The question was how do you get everyone to work for the same thing," he explained. "You had to work out what was negotiable and what was not."
