Executive pay is still rising, despite the country being hit by the worst recession in 50 years, according to a study to be published today by shareholder body Pirc. The group will call on shareholders to wield more power in voting against director remuneration packages, as cash payments to FTSE 100 company executive have risen by 80 per cent since 2000, despite the index dropping 30 per cent.
