No snow, but Met Office puts weather warnings in place for Greater London, Kent, Oxfordshire and West Sussex
London might not be getting any snow this week, but the Met Office has put out warnings that heavy rain and wind could lead to localised flooding and travel disruption.
The UK's weather authority has put severe weather warnings in place for Greater London, Kent, Oxfordshire, West Sussex, Portsmouth and Southampton, saying affected areas could see gusts of up to 75 mph.
“The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport and possibly power supplies,” it said, adding there was also a risk of disruption caused by “standing water and and spray, as well as localised flooding.”
As much as 50-60mm of rain could fall over the west of England and Wales, with around 20-40mm falling more widely within the warning zone.
The wind and rain is expected to last from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning “after which clearer, colder weather is expected to spread south east.”

As well as the very strong winds, a band of squally rain is likely to sweep eastwards across many parts through the period.
The exact track of this system is still open to some uncertainty as is the location of the strongest winds, particularly across the north on Thursday and this warning will be updated as and when necessary to fine tune the areas at risk from the impacts.
