Target Huntelaar is going nowhere, says Milan chief
AC MILAN have issued a ‘hands-off’ warning to a number of Premier League clubs chasing striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Holland international is frustrated at a lack of first-team football and is considering a loan move away from the San Siro to safeguard his World Cup place.
Everton boss David Moyes has already expressed an interest in bringing the 26-year-old to Goodison Park, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have also been linked, along with a handful of German clubs.
But Milan general director Ariedo Braida insists Huntelaar, who joined Milan in €15m (£13)deal from Real Madrid last summer, is going nowhere. Braida said: “Huntelaar stays here, all talk is unnecessary. Arsenal? No, I repeat that the player remains at Milan.”
Meanwhile, West Ham’s new co-owner David Sullivan has hit out at London rivals Tottenham for attempting to sabotage his side’s bid to sign Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The former Chelsea striker looked set to join Gianfranco Zola’s men and underwent a medical at Upton Park before Tottenham put a spanner in the works by coming in with an 11th-hour offer.
Sullivan said: “We thought we had a deal and the player had even had a medical. We then heard that Tottenham were trying to speak to the player.
“I can’t say I am happy about it but I believe in Karma and what goes around, comes around.”
