GOLF: World No1 Tiger Woods showed his imperious form once again to claim a 68th PGA Tour title with victory in the AT&T National in Maryland last night.

Woods fired a three-under-par 67 to finish on 13-under, but had to stave off pressure from fellow American Hunter Mahan, who tied for the lead at one stage amid a superb final-round 62.

It was Woods’ third victory of the season and perfect preparation for the Open Championship, which gets underway at Turnberry in two weeks time.
