Children injured after ceiling collapses at school in Dulwich
A number of children have been taken to hospital and others were treated at the scene after a ceiling collapsed at a school in Dulwich this morning, the London fire brigade said.
A ceiling collapsed on the second floor of a school on Thurlow Park Road in Dulwich this morning, and a number of people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Others were taken to hospital by London Ambulance crews.
London mayor Sadiq Khan said: “I’m relieved to hear that all children and staff are accounted for and I wish everyone affected a full and speedy recovery.”
The London fire brigade said all other children and staff were safely evacuated from the building, and firefighters carried out a search of the building and found that their is no risk of further collapse.
All staff and children were accounted for, and a specialist urban search and rescue team confirmed that the building was at no risk of further collapse.
Khan added: “I’m in close contact with the emergency services following a ceiling collapse at a school in south London, and I want to thank them for their swift response to this incident.”
