Fiat Chrysler recalls 2,500 jeeps in Russia due to safety concerns
Fiat Chrysler has voluntarily recalled 2,496 cars in Russia, the Russian technical safety watchdog Rosstandart has confirmed.
Those affected are the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Commander vehicles made between 11 March 2005 and August 2007. The cars were sold up until 2008.
In December last year Fiat was forced to issue a recall for 570,000 SUVs globally and in the US affecting Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango models due to the cars posing a fire risk.

There have been no reports of any related injuries or accidents however.
In January Renault said it would recall 15,000 vehicles to bring them into line with emissions standards, which have continued to hound car makers since the emergence of the Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal emerged in September last year.
Yesterday Fiat Chrysler said its sales rose by 12 per cent in the US in February, amid a strong performance by rivals in the country.
Ford Motor led the pack with a 20 per cent rise in increase. General Motors took a hit however, with its sales missing analyst expectations and sliding by 1.5 per cent due to shift towards retail sales and away from rentals.
